Devah: It means god, referring to the demi-gods. It also means one who is luminous and bright. Another meaning is one who does everything as a play. Lord Shiva is luminous and His play are the five great deeds(panchakrtya) \u2013 Creation, Sustenance, Destruction, Veiling and Grace. Devah also means the Lord who rules completely. The vedas praise this quality \u0938\u0930\u094d\u0935\u093e\u0927\u093f\u092a\u0924\u094d\u092f\u0902 \u0915\u0941\u0930\u0941\u0924\u0947 \u092e\u0939\u093e\u0924\u094d\u092e\u093e sarv\u0101dhipatya\u1e43 kurute mah\u0101tm\u0101 The Greatest One has ownership over everything.
