The valid means of knowledge are the shastras and for that, the knower must contact the known appropriately. Direct perception of the Truth is not possible. The Absolute Truth is not dependent on time, place or outward purity, it is effortlessly known in a purified mind and a subtle intellect. Just like the Sun illumines the world, Consciousness illumines the world of waking, dream and deep sleep. Through the continuous practice of nirvikalpa samadhi, the knower of Brahman becomes Brahman.
