Rudra: rud means sorrow and the reason of sorrow - Ignorance & attachment. Lord Shiva drives it away and hence he is known as Rudra. The Lord is also named Rudra because he makes us cry and also drives away pains. We have already studied about the limitless compassion and kindness of the Lord but he also punishes us to correct our mistakes so makes us cry. Rudra as the destroyer is also referred here. He destroys the worlds and gives death to the beings. There are many other meanings also which are shared in the talk.
