The Lord protects us from diseases, accidents etc. and also protects us from akaalamrutyu (untimely death)

The Lord also teaches us the wisdom of the Self and makes us realize that we are not body, mind or senses.

The story of the devotee Markandeya is an example of the Lord\u2019s Grace and an ability to hold on to an ideal uncompromisingly.

This Mantra appearing in Rigveda, 7.59.12 and Yajurveda 3.60 is known as \u092e\u0939\u093e\u092e\u0943\u0924\u094d\u092f\u0941\u091e\u094d\u091c\u092f\u092e\u0928\u094d\u0924\u094d\u0930-mah\u0101m\u1e5btyu\xf1jayamantra. Vaishtha Maitravaruni is the Rishi of this Mantra in which Rudra is invoked as the deity.
