Lalaata \u2013 forehead. Aksha - eye. One who has an eye on his
forehead . Lord Shiva has a fiery eye on his forehead. It is the
Jnana-Chakshu or eye of intuition. It is also the Aagna Chakra in
Yoga. World is dissolved when Lord Shiva opens the third eye.
Eyes are meant to see and symbolise vision. Self in me is Self in
all. One experiences samadhi when one transcends the
worldliness. One sees the Self clearly.
It is also the seat of visualisation and concentration. 2 points \u2013
heart or the third eye are prescribed by the scriptures to focus
upon during meditation.
It helps the seeker also to go from form to formless. Great Yogis
focus on the third eye and eject out of the body consciously at the
time of death.
Through sadhana we can awaken the third eye in us.
