Kaamaaree or the Foe of desire. The story of Shiva burning Kaama is popular in all pur\u0101nas. This shows the Lord\u2019s control over the senses and his victory over lust. This helps us also to gain victory over lust and desires to attain Self-Realisation.

This name is being explained in 3 Videos. In this video we see the circumstances that led Kaamadev to attack Lord Shiva. Tarakasura is a demon who got a boon from Lord Brahma that only a son of Lord Shiva can destroy him. Lord Shiva was in a deep state of dispassion after Sati immolated herself. Lord Shiva was not in any mood of a new marriage etc. So to tempt him, Indra requested Kaamadev who agreed and planned to attack Lord Shiva but could not find a single entry point where he could attack the Lord because the Lord had controlled all his senses and the
mind.
