Fighting Mr. 2nd/We Best Love, Ep3: a Taiwanese BL Drama Series in Review

In this episode of Check It/Round Table Onna reviews episode 3 of Fighting Mr. 2nd episode 3--a roller coaster ride of epic proportions.  Onna gets on her soapbox and gives her little rant on why she is sick--so sick, and tired, oh-so-tired of parents in BL dramas stating that if a couple of the same sex ends up together they will not have grandchildren.  Onna considers how this is ill-founded and also misses the point because firstly, many same-sex couples adopt or have children via surrogacy and secondly, shouldn't the happiness of your child be more important than producing heirs in the first place!?

Onna goes on to considers how this episode "Self-righteous Efforts Gone Awry"  shows the worst thing Gao Shi Di ever did, by agreeing to not see Zhao Shu Yi and to work hard for five years to be acceptable enough for Zhao Shu Yi's dad because he forgets that being enough for the one you love is the only thing that matters, not being enough for others--whoever they may be.  Also, it is this episode that showcases how Zhou Shu Yi really shines as a character because he believes in forever with him and Gao Shi Di and was trying to protect Gao Shi Di in the same way that Gao Shi Di was trying to protect Zhao Shu Yi.  Onna considers how in good times and bad and one of the reasons this series may be so popular is that in both good and bad, in both understanding or misunderstanding, Gao Shi Di and Zhou Shu Yi are present with one another and equally focused on each other, don't care what others think of them, and are grateful that they have found each other.  It's all here.  It's all real.
