Why I like the CLI:

\n- Uses minimal resources. Less space, less memory, fewer dependencies.
\n- Transparency. GUI hides internals, limits options.
\n- Similar between Unix-like systems. GUI tools seem to change every week.
\n- Remote management. SSH rocks.
\n- Everything is text. Configs, devices, output. CLI is natural complement.
\n- Pipes and scripts. One time is hard, a thousand times is easy.
\n- Only need a few tools. Grep, sed, awk, vi, cron.
\n- Text config files. Easy to version, share, and comment.
\n- Requires reading skills instead of clicking skills.
\n- Much faster when you know what you are doing.
