What if you became the patient being cared for in the OR by the staff that usually assists you, the Doctor? Hear this amazing story from Dr. Annie Thurman, our guest this week in our next installment in our series of \u201cThe Doctor as Patient\u201d.\xa0 Dr. Thurman is a Gynecologist from Virginia. Her health story gave her insight and a new perspective towards coworkers and patients.\xa0 She graciously shares the events that led to her diagnosis of early stage breast cancer.\xa0 Her positive attitude and perspective are encouraging and so evident!\xa0 She shares how she gained an even bigger appreciation for the hospital staff she worked with when\xa0 forced to view them through the eyes of the patient. Her ability to trust and defer decision making to her attending surgeon helped free her from the common trap of \u201cplaying doctor \u201c many of us try to do to ourselves.\xa0 More about Dr Thurman: Andrea Thurman, MD, is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
