"VODOU ROOTS is a new podcast series that delves into otherworldly tributaries of myth, memory and magic. This show is an intimate audio-narrative journey about my life and my relationship with Vodou and other traditional African religions/spiritual practices.\xa0Tales of my Haitian heritage and global travels are interwoven with music \u2013 all types of music. We have great guest appearances from practitioners, artists, historians and community members from Brooklyn, NY all the way to Benin, West Africa. Collectively, we explore Vodou\u2019s historical survival, cultural impact, universal values, arts and healing modalities.\xa0The world psyche is awash in distorted perspectives of Vodou and its practitioners. As a storyteller, my endeavor is to stoke the collective imagination and keep alive new ways of seeing.\xa0I am accountable to those who came before, the living and to those who follow to keep our narratives of the black diaspora heard and seen.
