Breaking Into... \xa0-- In this episode Black Hollywood Live host James Lott Jr. welcomes Cinthya Guillen to Breaking Into to discuss her\xa0life and career!
\n
\nCinthya Guillen is a photographer living and working\xa0in Southern California. Her\xa0work aims to confront\xa0socially constructed\xa0ideas around space and\xa0identity.
\n
\nHer\xa0current project, Abstract Borders, challenges\xa0perception and bias by capturing\xa0seemingly disparate homes in Los Angeles and Tijuana, Mexico.
\n
\nThough she enjoys technology and the ease of digital cameras, her true love is film photography.
\n
\nIn order to bring exposure\xa0to women of color who still shoot film, Cinthya co-founded the Black Dove Film Club, a collective of and for women of color photographers. Their mission is to promote their love for film photography\xa0while uniting as an underrepresented minority in the film community.
