Gathering 57: Light and Darkness

For many, this time of year isn’t about Christmas merriment and holiday lights. Instead, many experience the darkness of a chaotic world of complete confusion and disorder. The shift that is supposed to happen when dark becomes light at the remembrance of Jesus’ birth does not occur. Drawing from the logos hymn spoken of in John 1 in which “the light shone in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it,” Pastor Tony Minear, Ph.D. shows us how this new retelling of the creation story is really just about our opportunity to be God’s agents of light. Just as Jesus was that agent, learn how we too can bring light to the chaos in the world through our simple acts. Agents who know what it means to “light it up!”
