Most Christians would agree that God is all about salvation—that we live in a fallen world and are in need saving. For centuries, Jesus’ narrative of dying on the cross for our salvation has validated this belief and it is the lens through which scripture has been interpreted. But when exactly did this belief originate? Some have suggested that it wasn’t until after Jesus’ death that it became all about salvation.
