Christianity has often preoccupied itself with emphasizing the greatness of God’s domain. Rightly so, God’s sphere of knowledge is vast and it is great. A contemporary prosperity theology also holds that greatness in financial blessing comes through faith in the will of God and donations given to religious causes. But what if Christians were to switch that emphasis to one focused more on God’s authenticity than God’s greatness? Across scripture, Jesus’ parable of the mustard seed seems to echo this emphasis on authenticity over greatness. When you compare the imagery of growth across the gospel accounts, a very different emphasis can be found in each. Listen as our guest speaker, the Right Rev. Dr. A. T. Prosperity III, Senior Minister of Building Up Cathedral, and Pastor Tony Minear, Ph.D. explore these two different approaches to God’s domain. Discover Jesus’ call not to be great, but rather to be real. To be transformative. Then decide for yourself what your venture of faith is to be: one that is great or one that is real?
