The correspondence bias is the \ntendency to draw inferences about a person's unique and enduring dispositions \nfrom behaviors that can be entirely explained by the situations in which they \noccur. When people observe other\u2019s behavior they often attribute that behavior \nto dispositional traits rather than situational factors (Aronson, Wilson, & \nAkert, 2007). The tendency for people to overemphasize personality based \nexplanations and underemphasize situational factors is known as the \ncorrespondent bias (Miyamoto & Kitayama 2002).
