In part nine of this series on the Ask Eric Podcast, Eric Ludy discusses one of the most important spiritual truths he has learned thus far\u2014victory over sin is past tense.\n\nGranted, while we may continue to face temptation and trials in our spiritual lives, the Biblical truth is that the victory that Christ won has already been accomplished!\n\nWe often think that victory is for sometime in the future\u2014maybe when we pray enough or when Jesus returns. But victory is not something we need to wait around for. The Bible says that not only is victory possible but Jesus accomplished it in the past on the Cross.\n\nHow do we walk in victory and triumph now? Paul says in Romans 6 that we are to reckon\u2014an accounting term that means you need to \u201ctake it to your account\u201d\u2014an active engagement of the soul that takes the legal rights and truths and apply it to our lives.\n\nWe must realize that the sin which once reigned in our lives no longer has any legal right to our lives. We must exert the truth that we are free and no longer under the dominion and power of sin. Just like flying in an airplane trumps the law of gravity, there is a higher law (the Law of Spirit and Life) that enables us to live victoriously.
