I’ve learned more about “real” people over the past twenty four months then my forty three years in radio broadcasting. Inside the walls of towers and disc jockey performances, the ability to share thoughts and ideas over a far reaching speaker has always been mind blowing. But not as much as physically being right there in front of “real” people. During those days of Covid 19 lockdown I needed to be with people. Zoom wasn’t doing it for me. In the world of motion pictures a 3-D film is always a sight to see, but you can’t touch it. Whereas being in front of “real” people made a true connection. I’ve always tried to crate radio shows with the listener 100% in mind. Just like 3-D the imagination painted the image but I truly can’t make it a physical relationship. There’s something to be said about vocal vibrations. I look at myself as being a silent wolf. It is my totem animal. A lot is learned when you’re being called to a position of just listening. The art of being present without taking over.
