Dictionary.com defines semi retired as being someone who has transitioned to fewer hours of work. A term that's seeping into our twenty five plus years as a neighborhood. My wife was the third to officially retire but we didn't call it that. We say, "We own the power of choice." We don't have jobs. We have agreed with different businesses to be with them at certain times. It's a choice to show up. So far only one family has left the neighborhood to settle down in an adult community. The day is coming for the last of us to do the same. Who will be here when it happens? My heart writes daily so that the next owners of this forest know its story.
