The Daily Mess It's Not The Story It's The Characters

I'm amazed by how television sitcom writers rely so much on vocal conflict to keep their stories alive. It pits sitcom husbands against wives, brothers and sister and someone who happens to live in the neighborhood. There's always vocal drama. Al Bundy and Archie Bunker were always restless with life. Rosanne Barr is no stranger to using vocal conflict. She was no Edith Bunker or Carol Brady. Sitcom's are written to be relatable. Fan favorites aren't judge by the plot. Research shows it's the characters people love. How I Met Your Mother was a dorky show. Neil Patrick Harris made Barney Stinson the every day guy you loved or hated.
