Distractions. With so much moving around us our distractions are being distracted. Learning how to calm the origin of the real distraction requires action. Being aware of the root. So many people stay away from meditation saying there are too many mental distractions. It’s almost like they’re afraid of silence. Yet when we find it, there’s no feeling like it. Staying there and or getting back to it is a daily journey. I don’t promote the physical act of practicing because if you’re like me practicing poorly becomes the new habit. Be aware of the root. What has your attention and why? I have no problem telling myself, “No!” But you’ve got to mean it. Make it a huge part of your discipline. No. Means no. You can’t come back to it on a different day with warm open arms. Gain control of what’s distracting your distractions. Then begin your growing period of identifying the root.
