The Daily Mess Acknowledging The What If

Published: March 22, 2022, 3 a.m.

The daily goal is to not write the story before the event. Acknowledging it would be identifying without pictures. Mentally preparing for what could be a world war is very heavy. To ignore the potential is denying truth. To worry about it is putting the mind and heart in a bad place. Fear writes the untold story. How should we walk with our what if? Both my parents and grandparents didn't have the quickness of the internet during WW I and WW II. Through social media it feels like we're already there. How should we prepare? Facing the what if. But to acknowledge it puts us in that place of wanting to write a story. Not a book. A life and style based on preparation. They build bomb shelters and hid under desks during my parents and grandparents world war. What are we doing? The next mask we wear could be a gas mask. Wonder who'll fight it.
