If at first you don’t succeed, hope to God you gain a following on Home Video…

And so is the story of Willow, a delightful fantasy adventure from George Lucas and Ron Howard that would garner a cult following that would endure decades past the original film’s release and eventually get its own sequel TV series on Disney Plus. Surely a big budget show with CW-esque characters and dialogue will catch on as much, if not more, than the original - right?

Right…?

Anyway, enough about that failure, let’s talk about the original box office disappointment: 1988’s Willow!

I’m your host, Dave, and joining me as we cover ourselves with magical horny dust are fellow cinephiles and Daikini’s Mike, Jackie and Nick “Immortan Hoof”.

Listen as we discuss the disturbing amount of (made up) racial slurs thrown around in this film; we make a drinking game for every time a character says “Dust of Broken Hearts”; and finally, we salute Ron Howard, the most Okay-ist Director in Hollywood.

That’ll do it for this episode. Now out of my way, peck! I’ve got a big sack filled with the Dust of Broken Hearts, and that feline at the other end of the bar is calling to my inner brownie.
