Published: June 22, 2022, 11 a.m.

December 14, 2012, is remembered by many as the day of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. But Alissa Parker remembers it as the day she lost her daughter, Emilie. In the nine and a half years\xa0since, Alissa\xa0has found solace in the kindness of others and in the goodness of a God who has allowed her to feel her daughter's presence time and time again.\xa0While the trauma of her loss still causes Alissa to feel\xa0anxiety,\xa0she continues to find comfort in the\xa0confidence that she will be reunited with Emilie again.
