E57 Lizzy: From eating disorders to running 100miles

Lizzy grew up in a great community with a supportive family, but like many of us she faced a hard time fitting in during high school. She struggled with severe anorexia and negative relationships that continued into university. During hard times she found peace walking in the forest near her school. Those walks turned into runs, and shortly after she ran her first marathon. One year later, she ran San Diego 100 at just 22 years old. She now describes that race as, "so much more than getting a buckle. It was all that went into it. It was the journey of finding trail running and finding myself along the way."
