Hey guys! It is Aiko with Schwagirl. I am an American English pronunciation coach and business coach based in Hawai’i.

Welcome to my show “Schwagirl”. This show is for Japanese people who speak English as a second language and are working in an English environment. I am focusing on mindsets and entrepreneurship because they are important when it come to working in a new environment and learning new things.

I speak English as a second language. I came to the US when I was 23. I had a hard time in the US because of my thick Japanese accent. If you are going through a hard time, don’t give up your dreams and goals. And I hope this show will encourage and empower you! –Who is Aiko?

In this episode, I invited Ned Oshiro from Ned's English. He has been teaching English for a long time, but recently he started focusing on teach American English pronunciation. He shared some tips for English learners to improve their English/pronunciation skills.

Ned Oshiro:

He studied journalism at a 4-year college in the US and was trained to be a newscaster for TV and radio stations. After returning to Okinawa where he was born and raised, he joined a local Englishlanguage daily as a reporter and worked there for about 8 years. Then, he went to Tokyo and got a job at a foreign-capital PR firm as a staff. During the next 14-year tenure in PR, he made more than 200 presentations in English and also regularly briefed on visiting foreign company executives about Japanese business customs and manners.
