EP 98: Aligned Partnerships, Ethically Sourced Engagement Rings + Being Ready For Marriage

Published: Aug. 30, 2021, 8 p.m.

THE INTERVIEW // Before getting into our conversation with expert jeweler, gemologist and founder of Kingdom Fine Jewelry Natasha Peck, we share our views on societal pressure when it comes to getting engaged, weddings, marriage; where we are currently at with our priorities and why aligned values are more important than romanticizing getting married. Kingdom Fine Jewelry, based in Vancouver, was founded by Natasha Peck and her partner Dylan Lee. Together they create affordable, vintage, alternative engagement rings to cater to the trend of people wanting to purchase unique, uncommon pieces. Their rings have been worn by celebrities such as Ryan Reynolds, Lucy Hale and were featured in and recommended by @GQstyle. We chat about the process of ethically sourcing gems and recycled metals, how the pandemic has affected romantic relationships and advice for anyone thinking of getting engaged.

We also talk about..

  • the traditional 3-month salary guideline gone completely out the window
  • advice on how to choose the right ring and stay within your financial means
  • the emotions and energy during men and women picking their rings
  • societal standards, timelines, and pressures surrounding marriage
  • becoming less traditional creating a partnership
  • being emotionally/spiritually ready for marriage
  • being aligned with your partners values, goals and priorities
  • weddings becoming more private again due to the pandemic
