EP 88: You Are Not Your Wounds + Trusting Your Evolution

Published: June 22, 2021, 4 a.m.

L&J  // This week Lulu and Jana are talking about wounds, triggers, and what it really means to "do the work" when it comes to healing from your past. They also touch on self responsibility in terms of understanding and acknowledging your triggers and not bringing your past into your present. L & J also share their thoughts on living in the narrative that we often tell ourselves, and why what you have been through is not who you are. Lulu openly speaks about her experience growing up around alcoholism, how her self worth was deeply impacted by her  father, and how she navigates being in a healthy relationship when her PTSD revolves around men and being abandoned. Jana shares that she has made up certain stories in her head to keep herself stuck in a certain way of thinking about her childhood and how now she accepts her parents and appreciates them for who they are.

We also talk about...

  • Bringing up your ex in your current relationship
  • Not allowing yourself to live in your past
  • Why human beings are so quick to jump to negativity and the belief that things are "too good to be true"
  • Why we all deserve happiness and not suffering
  • Not staying in fear based cycles
  • Why the human body and mind tends to block out traumatic things or remember them incorrectly as a defence mechanism
  • Not becoming a prisoner to your thoughts, past, and narratives
  • Why forgiveness is for you and not for others
