THE INTERVIEW // Brooklyn, Founder and CEO of The Hive Beauty Langley has built a female run and operated business entirely around her passion for helping women look and feel their best. Brooklyn has been in the lash industry for 5 years and last year decided to take her business to the next level and flew to Toronto to become certified in Lymphatic Drainage making The Hive the only salon in British Columbia to offer Lymphatic Drainage with the vacuum machine. Lymphatic Drainage is a non-invasive thirty minute massage that uses two small sized suction cups to move water weight and toxins that are stored beneath the skin's surface to your lymphatic system to be removed from the body through detoxification pathways and elimination. She shares the benefits of lymphatic drainage as well as exactly what you can expect from your first treatment, and how frequently you should be getting it done. Brooklyn also touches on the struggles and ageism that she has faced as a 22 year old entrepreneur in the beauty industry. It is obvious that female empowerment and giving young girls the opportunity to work in the industry at a level that most salons won't allow them to get to for years is something that is very important to Brooklyn and you can see it in the staff at The Hive.
