On this journey to improve my own emotional intelligence, I\'ve already been having so many great conversations with friends, family, and even strangers!

One of them shared such an important concept that I share not to force you to take on the belief whole-heartedly, but to ignite some thought and reflection that might help your life.

Live with authenticity, not positivity.

It hits on the idea that a lot of us might be putting up a front, or a mask of positivity, subconsciously or not. We try to keep our heads afloat, hide the negativity, tell people that "I\'m doing great!" when in reality, you couldn\'t fall asleep until 4am last night because you were staring at your ceiling not knowing where your life is going.

Part of why we\'re feeling this way is because of how far we\'ve strayed from who we are. We hear all of these messages to stay positive, the other side is greener, etc. Don\'t get me wrong, I still think positivity and optimism is a powerful tool to live a great life, but if it\'s at the expense of addressing how you\'re truly feeling, that\'s when we start losing ourselves.
