Social anxiety. We all experience it at some point in our lives. But what does social anxiety look like when it goes beyond the jitters before an exam or the nerves before giving a presentation? How can we learn how to manage social anxiety in our day to day lives? Kate is a blogger and bookshop manager from the UK. Her blog, lovemyanxiousbrain.com, brings together research and personal experience for a compassionate look at mental health issues. She enjoys challenging her anxiety in physical ways, like rock climbing, bouldering and weight training. But she thinks hugs and affection are some of the best medicine for anxiety and when she can’t spend time with her boyfriend she loves to walk other people’s dogs in her local area.
