#57 Social Media, Influencers and Body Image

Social media gives us a voice and a platform to share our stories and our battles. It\'s often encouraging and inspiring seeing people who go through something similar, and if anything, it makes us feel a bit less alone in whatever we\'re dealing with.

\\n

But at the same time, social media can become a toxic place for our self-esteem, our perception of what being successful means, our body image, and our eating habits.

\\n

In real life, we usually compare with people we personally know, with people that are in the same age group or in our social circle, whereas on social media, we can compare with literally anybody - a stranger from the other side of the world with a completely different background, experience, values, life goals, etc. 

\\n

And what we\'ve been comparing ourselves to in the past few years especially are edited and photoshopped bodies and faces of strangers, models, celebrities, and influencers
