03 Perfectionism and Eating Disorders

Why do we have such tendencies to be perfect, and to be completely honest, who doesn\'t want to be perfect? We may strive for perfection because we believe that people will finally accept us, love us, and respect us once we\'re perfect. As someone dealing with an eating disorder, I wanted everything to be perfect - my body, appearance, grades, and subsequent eating disorder recovery. In this episode, I will share my experience as a perfectionist and binge eater in recovery, how I reached a breaking point as a university student, and some of the crazy things I\'ve done to be "perfect."
