Oelwein, Iowa is a town much like the communities of western Kentucky, southern Illinois and northwest Tennessee. Across the Midwest, small towns are experiencing a seemingly uncontrollable rise in the production of methamphetamine. Oelwein is the setting for Nick Reding's book Methland.
