Restrepo, this week's feature at Maiden Alley Cinema, is the winner of the 2010 Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize for a Documentary. It's the story of a platoon of soldiers in Afghanistan's Korengal Valley, considered to be one of the most dangerous postings in the U.S. military. Film critic Larry Thomas says this film is devoid of a lot of the flash you'd see in a Hollywood war film, but that only makes it more compelling.
