Penultimate Weekend - Episode #74
It's the last three-day weekend of racing at Emerald Downs for the 2022 meeting, this Sept. 9-10-11. The last "$1,000 KJR-Seattle T-Birds Horseshoe Toss" is on Friday night while Sunday, 9-11, is "First Responder Day." All first responders and active or retired military get in for free.
Mike Man's Gold, the track's all-time winningest horse, will be officially retired on Sunday. He won 26 times at this track, victories in an amazing 10 consecutive seasons. Claimer of the Meeting honors, as always, goes to the final weekend and contenders Missed the Boat, Mixo, Willing to Burn, Brony Boy, Warfront Fighter, Sir Deputy, Classic Leah and Prospera are all racing this weekend.
