Tropical Storm Fred crashed ashore on the Florida panhandle Monday with powerful winds, becoming the fourth system of the 2021 hurricane season to strike the U.S. Fred’s top winds were 65 miles per hour when it made landfall near Panama City, Fla. The storm was expected to weaken after landfall, but will still cause disruptions as it slices through Alabama and Georgia and into the Carolinas over the next two days.
