The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs released an assessment on Monday, March 14, that recommends the closure of the Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC) at Chillicothe. In response to the news, the Jackson County Veterans Service Office hosted an open session at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, March 15, where a representative from U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown’s office was present to meet with local veterans and anyone else who may be concerned about the decision. Veterans who use the VA Medical Center in Chillicothe and their family members were urged to attend to share stories about how the VA Medical Center has affected their lives. This morning on Main Street TV we will talk with Pete Wilson about what happened at that meeting and watch some of the messages from the veterans who spoke.
