Published: July 6, 2007, 10:27 p.m.

Richard Hoffman was 18 years old when he deployed to Vietnam in 1967. The young Marine Cpl. Hoffman was wounded by a grenade after only a few months and returned to the states to recover. He didn't realize it then, but he suffered the classic symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Only after a violent outburst at his home in 1984 did he finally seek help for PTSD.
