One newsy thing that I'm particularly interested in right now--that's related to the Hayek stuff--is why SCOTUS confirmations are so awful now. I'm of the mind that when the federal gov does too much, power and toxicity drain into DC. Then when Congress doesn't do it's job of legislating and the administrative state gets to bossy and the courts decide that they can get involved in everything, more and more authority ends up in the hands of SCOTUS...meaning the battles over its control are understandably nuclear. -
