A woman who can do it all best describes Carroll Gundersen. She did everything, including embroidering, politics, homemaker, League of Women Voters representative, and more. Carroll Gundersen was intimidating to men, enough so to get a ‘Man of the Year’ Award, but humble enough to host small parties in her home. To shortly sum up her life’s legacy, you might say, “She was a pioneer in our community as far as education of citizens and encouraging them to take part in government and in volunteer work. Those are the important leadership things that she did,” spoken by Rachel Gundersen. Still, almost twenty years after her death, Carroll still represents enough power to bring a grown woman to tears.
