Cornelius Vanderbilt, the railroad tycoon, was one of the richest men in the world. The surviving generations that met in 1973, there was not one millionaire in the group of 120 family members. Studies also show that it takes about 28 years for an average worker to create a wealth of a million dollars. The majority of wealth is made, not inherited.
