However to revive the deal would be a very bad idea: it does not block Iran’s path to nuclear weapons. No country has more to gain from a [favorable] deal than does Israel; all the Iran deal did was put certain restrictions for several years, after which Iran wouldn’t have to petition to join the nuclear club but would [waltz] in.  The Brits, French and Germans don’t see it that way—but they don't live in the Middle East.   The next ambassador: continue to reach out on both sides of the aisle to explain Israel’s positions.   Ambassador Ron Dermer was born and raised in Miami Beach, Florida. He earned a degree in Finance and Management from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) from Oxford University.
