Image:  President in the stand   Conrad Black, @ConradMBlack (https://twitter.com/ConradMBlack) , publisher, littérateur, biographer, commentator; the National Post; in re:   He is a very amusing man when he wants to be; but there was here an element of people who thought the president should be more sober, polite; confine himself to matters of policy.  He was destined to be reelected till the virus hit.  The Democrats had 95% of the media on Trump’s back so Biden didn’t have to campaign; many other benefits, but Trump almost pulled it out.   I was appalled that the three Justices [nominated by Trump] didn’t join Alito; the Supreme Court abdicated and the judicial branch momentarily ceased to be a co-equal branch.  Ginsburg said the first two of the three [those whom she knew to have been confirmed] were talented and capable.        The success of Trump’s moving the embassy to Jerusalem; the Palestinian organizations that refused to accept the right of Israel to have a state—something that Arafat promised to do in the Oslo Accords but never did—it was impossible to build on that.  Trump saw they were overplaying their hand.        Once the ancient foes Turkey and Iran began to encroach on the Arab world, the Arab powers decided it was better to align with Israel.
