Washington, D.C., May 22. John Hamilton, chairman of the Republican National Committee, today told the Dies Committee Investigating Un-American Activities that he had no prior knowledge of the activities of persons alleged to have disseminated anti-Semitic propaganda. Hamilton was subpoenaed after it was learned that he had exchanged letters with a Mr. Campbell, who described himself before the committee today as an 'American nationalist' opposed to the internationalist sentiment that he said is trying to get the nation into foreign wars.     Joel Finkelstein, @ncri_io;  and Malcolm Hoenlein, @conf_of_pres, Conference of Presidents, in re:  Online anti-Semitism.  Conversation with a Knesset member on this.  This is a profound intl concern, basically about the integrity of democracy everywhere. Anti-Semitism is what historically has been used to spike the punch; now it's highly internationalized using [digital]. See 250 million posts.  At Princeton in 2018 we studied the brain and [hatred]; the attack in Pittsburgh occurred. Left and right are identical in this.  It arrives like seismic activity at critical moments in democracy.          State Dept was anti-Semitic all through WWII. Also, many just tolerate it. Instead of saying “Jews are evil,” we can just say, “Israel is evil.”  Similarly, attacks on Soros.  Main media platforms:  we have to curtail these behaviors.  We had institutions created over time to do that; need something comparable today.    Joel Finkelstein is the co-founder of the Network Contagion Research Institute.
