Bevatron-1253   Ehud Yaari, @EhudYaariJLM,and Malcolm Hoenlein, @conf_of_pres, Conference of Presidents, in re:Iran, PA elections, the greater region.  UAE leaders are relaxed about military sales, as are Israelis.  All favor the Abraham Accords.  JCPOA. Talk with Biden people: the JCPOA as it was is no longer there, as Iranians have made huge strides in their nuclear work; nothing like 2015.  The Gulf States, even Qataris, all agree on this; that the Gulf [must not be sacrificed because of the Polisario]. Cannot throw into the basket missiles and Iranian regional aggression. Question: how will US conduct itself in Iraq, and will the US stick to its current position that Iran must first begin to comply and then the US will look at lifting sanctions. Other than that, important that during negotiations leading to JCPOA in 2015, Israel found it was closer in its positions to France and UK, less so to Germany; Macron and Johnson may be helpful in [explaining] to Biden. Emphasis now to convince the US administration that a lot has changed, the Iranian program is not where I was in 2015. Timeline: different assessments, not enough information.  Iran will  never go for two nuclear bombs; will go for five or seven or more, which means two years off.  Israel-based Lafer international Fellow of The Washington Institute.
