First: these are notpeace talks.  Taliban are trying to run out the clock. Goal is to have he US withdraw by 1 May, so it has weeks to solve this.    Taliban have been very clear in public statements as well as kinetic attacks against the US. What's the purpose of he US maintaining a small force in Afghanistan when [it can't protect Afghans]?  As soon as the US leaves, Taliban will take over huge swaths of the country. There’s no peace process; Taliban have been hollowing out civil society and are preparing for a takeover.   Rocket attack on Erbil.  https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/taliban-call-on-biden-to-honor-trump-deal-to-remove-u-s-troops/ar-BB1cRmVs
