Lawrence J. Fedewa’s career began as a high school teacher. He proceeded to get a doctorate and eventually became a tenured professor and Dean of the College. He then founded an experimental college for adults and served as its first president. He was recruited by Control Data Corporation to help introduce the first major computer-assisted education system in the world, and he sold the first subscription to the Battelle Memorial Institute of Columbus, Ohio. Later, he co-founded an institute for computer programmers and consultants in the Philippines, serving the ASEAN countries, became an international expert in educational technology, and then headed federal contractor firms for over 20 years. In the meantime Dr. Fedewa founded the Washington Institute of Technology, participated in a joint venture with National Education Association, and two joint ventures with The Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health. After retiring from the Washington Technology Group, LLC, he started a new Washington DC firm specializing in technology transfer, where he now serves as Chairman Emeritus of the Board. He is also a partner in a firm which consults on cyber security products and services, developing US government business, and assists owners of government contracting companies prepare exit strategies, working with both buyers and sellers. Major clients include Navy Federal Credit Union (largest in the world), Passfaces, Inc., and Syntegrity Network Solutions, Inc. Lawrence J. Fedewa has also written over 100 columns on political and social issues of the day for the Washington Times.
