P2P methamphetamine production involves the reduction of ephedrine or pseudoephedrine using red phosphorus and hydroiodic acid. The P2P method is different from the one-pot or shake-and-bake methods, which are also used to produce methamphetamine. In the P2P method, the reaction occurs in a separate vessel, whereas in the one-pot method, all the ingredients are mixed in a single container.
