Yossi Ghinsberg is an Israeli adventurer and author known for his remarkable survival story in the Amazon rainforest. His story gained widespread attention and was the basis for the 2017 movie "Jungle," starring Daniel Radcliffe.

In 1981, Yossi Ghinsberg, along with three friends (Kevin Gale, Marcus Stamm, and Karl Ruprechter), embarked on a journey into the heart of the Amazon rainforest in Bolivia. They were inexperienced in the ways of the jungle and naively trusted a mysterious Austrian guide, Karl, who claimed to have knowledge of uncharted areas rich in gold.

As they ventured deeper into the jungle, their situation grew increasingly dire. They faced numerous challenges, including harsh weather conditions, a lack of food and clean water, dangerous animals, and the constant threat of getting lost. Disagreements and tensions also developed among the group, as they struggled to survive.

Tragically, the group became separated, with Yossi becoming lost on his own. He spent weeks navigating the treacherous rainforest, enduring injuries, starvation, and the constant fear of death. He encountered indigenous tribes and had to rely on his resourcefulness and instincts to survive. His journey included moments of despair, but he was ultimately driven by the determination to see his family again.

After an incredible 19 days alone in the jungle, Yossi was eventually rescued by a local tribe, who helped him find his way back to civilization. His incredible tale of survival captivated people around the world and has since been shared in books, interviews, and the movie "Jungle."
