Evening Update: Brittney Griner's Detention is Extended Until At Least May (3/17/22)
In a follow up episode to a previous one, we get an update on the incarceration of WNBA Brittney Griner who is being held in Russia on drug charges. Russian officials claim that she had marijuana 'vape' cartridges on her person when she was searched at the airport and for this crime she is facing up to 9 years. A Russian court who is overseeing the case ruled today that Griner would be held until at least May. It remains to be seen what America's response will be.
